Forged from oil-quenched and tempered 1065 high carbon steel (65Mn), the blade achieves an optimal equilibrium between structural hardness and shock-absorbing elasticity, preventing bending or cracking during heavy strikes. Constructed with a full-tang architecture extending through a 24 cm hilt, it delivers maximum structural integrity, balance, and leverage for both single and two-handed techniques. The handle features a non-slip genuine ray skin (same) base tightly wrapped with black cord, paired with a solid cutout iron tsuba (handguard) and a precision brass habaki for seamless draws and zero blade rattle. Encased in a solid wood Saya finished in mirror-gloss black piano lacquer with intricate gold thread motifs, this short sword provides a tight moisture barrier against oxidation while serving as a striking display piece.
