Description
The Sylvan Drake Katana pairs a hand-forged 1065 high-carbon steel blade with a dragon-motif tsuba, genuine ray skin handle panels and a natural wood saya. The blade is forged in Bizen Osafune, Setouchi, Okayama, Japan; the sword fittings are made and the final assembly is completed at our workshop in Longquan, China.

Made in Japan and Longquan
The blade is hand forged in Bizen Osafune, a historic sword-making area in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. After forging and heat treatment, it is sent to our Longquan workshop in China, where the fittings are produced and the sword is assembled.
Handle, Tsuba and Saya
The handle uses genuine ray skin. The dragon-motif tsuba is made from alloy. The saya is made from natural wood stored for five years and finished with a transparent clear lacquer that leaves the wood grain visible.
Sharp and Dull Options
Choose SHARP for a sharpened edge or DULL for an unsharpened edge. Both versions use the same 1065 steel, oil-quenched and tempered heat treatment, construction and fittings; only the final edge condition differs.
